Fees
In most of the injury cases we handle, the fee is contingent on the outcome of the case.
In other words, if we lose, you owe nothing. (Most lawyers handle these cases this way).
Therefore, you will not be risking anything and we have an incentive to get the most money
possible for you. Also, we will not take a case if we think we are going to lose. We do not work
for free, although we will talk to you (or reply to e-mail) without charge. Occasionally, you will
be asked to reimburse expenses of litigation, win or lose.
In Workers' Compensation and Social Security cases, the law requires that lawyers not
charge their clients until the case is over, and only when the Workers' Compensation
Commission or Social Security approve the fee. Therefore, all lawyers basically charge the
same by law for Workers' Compensation cases and Social Security cases.
We endeavor to charge reasonable fees on all matters involving an hourly rate for our
time. In bankruptcy and immigration matters, the charge is determined by the amount of time
involved and the complexity of the issues.
